Terms of Service
Effective November 1, 2026
Things To Do (whattodo.community, the “site”) is run by Alexander Fields (“we”, “us”). By using the site or creating an account, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
1. Who can use the site
You must be at least 13 years old to use the site and at least 18 (or have a parent or guardian's permission) to buy anything. If you post for a business, school, or government entity, you confirm you're allowed to post for it.
2. Your account
Keep your login details to yourself; you're responsible for what happens under your account. Give us a working email address so we can reach you about your listings.
3. Posting events
- Post real events with accurate details: date, time, place, and who it's for.
- Choose the right poster type. Business, government, and school events aren't personal listings.
- You keep ownership of what you post (text, flyers, images). You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, resize, and share it on the site and in links to it (for example, search results and calendar invites) for as long as it's listed and as needed to run the site.
- Only upload flyers and images you have the right to use.
4. What's not allowed
Don't use the site to:
- promote or arrange anything illegal, including the sale of drugs, weapons, or stolen goods;
- scam, defraud, or mislead people, or post fake events;
- harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone, or post hateful or violent content;
- post sexually explicit material, or anything that endangers or exploits minors;
- infringe someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights;
- spam, post the same event over and over, or advertise things that aren't events;
- impersonate a person, business, school, or government;
- break or overload the site: no scraping in bulk, bots, malware, probing for security holes, or getting around our limits, blocks, or payments.
5. Moderation
We review some listings before they appear and respond to reports. We may edit a listing's category or poster type, refuse or remove any listing or flyer, and suspend or close accounts that break these terms, with or without notice. We aren't obligated to monitor everything posted, and we don't endorse what posters say.
6. Payments, plans, and codes
- Business, government, and school listings cost $5 per post, shown for 30 days from payment. Year plans cover unlimited posts of one type for 12 months: business $100, government $40, education $30. Prices shown at checkout are in U.S. dollars, plus any tax that applies.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- Plans are one-time purchases and don't renew automatically. Discounted government and education plans may require an email address from that kind of organization.
- Signup codes give a free plan of their type until the date stated when the code is issued. Codes are for the organizations they're given to; we may cancel codes that are shared publicly or misused.
- All sales are final. We don't refund listings you delete, listings removed for breaking these terms, or unused plan time, except where the law requires it. If something went wrong with a charge, email liftandthink@gmail.com.
- We may change prices for future purchases. Changes don't affect what you've already paid for.
7. Events are run by posters, not us
We list events; we don't organize, host, sell tickets to, or check them. Details can be wrong or change, and events can be canceled. Confirm with the organizer before you go, and use your own judgment about your safety. Any dealings with a poster or event are between you and them.
8. Other services
The site links to and uses other services, such as maps, directions, calendar apps, and Stripe. Their own terms apply, and we aren't responsible for them.
9. Copyright complaints
If you believe something on the site infringes your copyright, email liftandthink@gmail.com with the listing's link, what you own, and how to reach you. We'll remove infringing material and may close the accounts of repeat infringers.
10. Disclaimers
The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, including accuracy, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We don't guarantee the site will always be up, error free, or that listings will get a certain number of views.
11. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for anything that happens at or because of an event listed on the site. Our total liability for any claim about the site is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $50.
12. Your responsibility
If your listings or your use of the site break these terms or the law and someone makes a claim against us because of it, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with that claim.
13. Ending your use
You can stop using the site and delete your listings at any time. To close your account, email liftandthink@gmail.com. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as payments, disclaimers, and limits of liability) still apply afterward.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the effective date above and, for significant changes, let account holders know by email or on the site. Using the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
15. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, please email us so we can try to resolve it informally. Any dispute that isn't resolved will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Texas, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
